Riding Again
Today was a perfect riding day. 70 degrees and the wind was almost nonexistent. I donned my riding gear complete with a can of Halt, thanks to CK, and headed out for a ride. Since the Blood Pressure is still high and we haven't solved all of my current health issues as of yet, I decided to ride my Stumpjumper. I figured with the Tricross i'd just be tempted to really push it. I rode south for about 35 minutes and then turned around and came home. I forgot how nice it is to just feel the miles roll past. After an almost three week break from biking, I was worried that my legs would give out. I actually felt better on the bike then I have in a long time. Maybe I needed an extended break.
Funny what a couple of weeks can do. The leaves were beginning to change and the soy beans and corn were all ready to harvest. I share the sentiments of Darth I do miss riding with my pals! I find myself rating the routes I take based on who would enjoy it. No traffic routes and no dog routes for Darth. Epic rides with lot's of open country for CK to see, and with HR it's just would he ride this?
What would a ride in the country be with out reporting on the vehicles I saw along the way. There was a landscaping truck, a school bus, a mail truck, two cars and an Amish wagon pulled by a donkey. A very busy day as far as riding in the country goes. Well it's off to the Dekalb County fair with the family. It's great to ride again, but the slight chill in the air had me asking myself if I'd ride this whole winter outside wiothout CK?
