14 Miles on the Road and a Walk in the Park...
Well the weather today was fantastic and I figured it would be a good time to try a trip I have been wanting to do. With gas prices the way they are and my frequent trips to the library I thought it would be nice to try a ride to the library. For me this is an extra difficult thing since I dislike road riding...Really Really dislike it... So around noon I hop on my bike and head to the library. the ride there was a little better then I thought it would be. Traffic was light and everyone was passing with care. The road riding along with my increased adrenaline made my speed pretty high. When it was all said and done I made it to the Library in 31 minutes of riding... Not too bad. I then spent some time looking at movies and finding a book I wanted to read. The way back was far more interesting since the traffic going north was a bit heavier... I pulled into my drive in a little over an hour of riding with an average speed of just over 13MPH... I think I will do this ride a little more often and may even consider riding to CK's for a ride or too...
Well after I got back I relaxed a little then the family went for a walk at the local state park. A little over 3 miles of trees, light breezes and of course bugs to hunted. The boys had a blast looking at all the bugs. 6yo was riding his bike and 2 yo was in the stroller. We had a good time and I was able to get in a bunch of exercise!
I think I might have to get the trailer bike for the 6yo really soon. He can then go on some more interesting long rides. I do plan on taking him for some trail rides soon to see how he handles that.
Be Well and Ride On!!!!
