Red,Yellow and River with the Trailer Bike in Tow

Today 6yo and I went for a ride to Moraine Hills. We hooked up the trailer bike and hit the road for an hour and a half ride. The weather was perfect and the boy really liked being out riding with dad. I was really worried about the hills and thought they would kill me. That first hill eased my fears since having the added assistance made up for the extra weight of the trailer and boy. We saw a few Cranes as well as an assortment of butterflies, Turtles, Frogs and Birds. We made it a point to stop at a few of the outlooks to see a few of the things around the trail such as the different lakes and of course McHenry Dam. I was hoping to see a boat go into the locks, but we were not so lucky.

What a great way to get some exercise, be with nature and of course spend some time with my son.
